Namings, Sponsorships and RESTRICTED FUNDS
Honor an influential educator, loved one or friend through the naming of a classroom, program or other facility. Businesses also have the opportunity to sponsor programs, initiatives, career pathways and facilities to give back philanthropically to District 214. Restricted funds provide the opportunity to give significantly to an area of specific need at the school or District level, through conversations with the Foundation. Restricted funds, namings and sponsorships are available at varying levels. Please contact Michael Happ, Executive Director, at (847) 718-7688 or michael.happ@d214org to discuss opportunities to make an impact in this way.
PLANNED GIVING
Planned giving includes wills and estate planning, trusts and more. To learn more about opportunities to benefit the District 214 Education Foundation through Planned Gifts, contact Michael Happ, Executive Director, at (847) 718-7688 or michael.happ@d214org. There is no obligation to give following the conversation.
HONOR AN EDUCATOR OR MENTOR
When you choose to honor District 214 staff or volunteers by making gifts to the District 214 Education Foundation, you recognize their tremendous dedication and help us continue to ensure we prepare our learners for success. We will happily notify the named educator or mentor and pass on notes of gratitude from you regarding the impact they made. If mailing your gift, please include a note about whom you are honoring, and whom you would like us to notify. Or, call the Foundation Office at (847) 718-7753.
Memorial Gifts
There is no more meaningful way to honor the memory of a friend or loved one than through a gift that will positively impact others. We are happy to notify a family member of your gift if you wish. Some families choose to include the District 214 Education Foundation for memorial donations in obituaries. If you would like more information, including donation envelopes for use at memorial services, please contact the Foundation Office at (847) 718-7753.
Matching Gifts
Employer matching gifts can greatly increase the impact of your own donation to the District 214 Education Foundation. Simply make a gift to the District 214 Education Foundation, and then contact your employer’s Human Resources Department to determine whether they will match charitable donations. Fill out your company’s required application form and mail it to us with your donation.
Scholarships
Scholarships, with naming rights, are available. We offer both immediate-use scholarships (minimum $2,500 pledge) and endowed scholarships (minimum $25,000 pledge), with pledges fulfilled over a maximum of five years. Criteria can be defined by the donor in partnership with the Education Foundation team, and awards can be allocated for District-wide use or restricted to a particular school. For questions regarding scholarships or to discuss a new opportunity, contact Michael Happ, Executive Director, at michael.happ@d214.org or (847) 718-7688.
THIRD PARTY EVENTS
Many grateful alumni, community members, school groups and others host fundraisers and donate the proceeds, in part or in full, to the District 214 Education Foundation, directly supporting student success, innovation and lifelong learning across 10 schools and programs in eight communities. To discuss hosting a third-party fundraiser, contact the Foundation Office at (847) 718-7753 or foundation@d214.org for more information and criteria.
